Shivani and Jessica, the co-founders and managing partners of PATHFINDER, met in Mauritius in 2012, where Jessica was working with the United Nations Development Programme and Shivani was visiting a mutual friend on holiday. The women quickly became friends, sharing not only chemistry but also similar passions and goals.

Shivani Singh
Shivani is a social entrepreneur, strategy and management consultant, and humanitarian aid worker in the global development industry. She is also a veteran of Wall Street, having held several roles in financial technology, such as Analyst, Q/A Lead, Project Manager, Program Manager and Chief of Staff.
Shivani has worked with global industry giants, such as Doctors Without Borders (MSF), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), as well as Citi Investment Banking Technology and Bank of America. Among other accolades, Shivani is an alumna of Ashoka Changemakers, American Express Leadership Academy and the Social Venture Institute in Canada.
Shivani holds a BBA and an MSc., in Information and Technology Management from the United States, and has since studied various methodologies like PMP, SDLC, Agile, alongside Organizational and Cross-Cultural People Management.
Shivani believes deeply, in serving to help build a better, healthier, and more equitable world. She also champions life-long learning and continuous personal development. It is the culmination of this passion and experience that she brings to PATHFINDER.

Jessica Van Thiel
Jessica’s focus is in the field of aid and development, human rights law and advocacy, social entrepreneurship, science and economic policy and is a Ph.D. Student in Science and Technology Policy Studies at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex.
Jessica has worked with EU Institutions in Brussels, on international research and development projects. She also worked as the Gender Focal Point of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Mauritius Country Office. Her work also includes consulting for a Human Rights NGO based in South Africa, where she assisted victims of domestic violence and led an anti-Human Trafficking Campaign.
She is an avid volunteer and is a member of the Soroptimist International and the Institute of Directors. Now based in France and Canada, her passion to advocate policies and sustainable strategies that directly benefit minority groups and the impoverished are what motivated her to co-found PATHFINDER.
